Project Overview
This project, undertaken for the New Urban Communities Authority, involves the comprehensive operation, maintenance, and training services for sewage pumping stations in Al Shorouk City. The project aims to ensure the continuous, safe, and reliable operation of the pumping stations, enabling the efficient conveyance of wastewater to treatment facilities while maintaining compliance with environmental, operational, and public health standards. In addition to operation and maintenance activities, the project includes specialised training programmes to enhance the technical capabilities of operation and maintenance personnel, improve asset management practices, and ensure the long-term reliability and sustainability of the city's wastewater infrastructure.Scope of Work
The project encompasses the complete operation, maintenance, and training activities associated with the sewage pumping stations, including:
- Continuous operation and monitoring of sewage pumping stations and associated facilities.
- Preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of pumps, motors, valves, generators, electrical panels, mechanical equipment, and electromechanical systems.
- Operation and maintenance of wet wells, dry wells, rising mains, collection chambers, and auxiliary systems.
- Inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of sewer pipelines, tanks, valves, and associated infrastructure to ensure efficient operation.
- Operation and maintenance of SCADA, instrumentation, automation, and control systems where applicable.
- Monitoring flow rates, water levels, pressure, and operational performance indicators to ensure uninterrupted wastewater conveyance.
- Emergency response, fault diagnosis, and corrective maintenance to minimise operational interruptions.
- Spare parts management, equipment condition assessment, and replacement of deteriorated components.
- Development and implementation of technical training programmes for operation and maintenance personnel covering station operation, equipment maintenance, safety procedures, emergency response, and best operational practices.
- Preparation of operational reports, performance evaluations, and technical documentation in accordance with New Urban Communities Authority requirements.
- Implementation of occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards throughout all project activities.
Technological Impact
The project enhances the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of the wastewater pumping network in Al Shorouk City through the integration of advanced operation and maintenance technologies. The implementation of SCADA systems, real-time monitoring, automated control solutions, predictive maintenance strategies, and digital asset management improves operational visibility, enables early fault detection, and optimises the performance of sewage pumping stations.
The technical training programmes strengthen the capabilities of operation and maintenance teams, support knowledge transfer, and promote the adoption of modern wastewater infrastructure management practices. These technological and operational improvements contribute to reducing downtime, improving energy efficiency, extending equipment service life, increasing system reliability, and ensuring the sustainable operation of the sewage pumping network throughout Al Shorouk City.
