Project Overview
This project, undertaken for the New Urban Communities Authority, involves the comprehensive operation, maintenance, and training services for water pumping stations in New Asyut City. The project aims to ensure the continuous, reliable, and efficient operation of water pumping facilities to support the sustainable supply and distribution of potable water to residential, commercial, and public areas. In addition to operation and maintenance activities, the project includes specialised training programmes to enhance the technical capabilities of operation and maintenance teams, improve operational efficiency, and ensure the long-term reliability and sustainability of water infrastructure in New Asyut City.Scope of Work
The project encompasses the complete operation, maintenance, and training activities associated with water pumping stations, including:
- Continuous operation and monitoring of water pumping stations and associated facilities.
- Preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of pumps, motors, valves, generators, electrical panels, and mechanical equipment.
- Inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of pumping units, pipelines, reservoirs, and related infrastructure.
- Operation and maintenance of SCADA, instrumentation, automation, and control systems where applicable.
- Monitoring water flow rates, pressure levels, and operational parameters to ensure reliable water supply.
- Optimisation of pumping operations to improve energy efficiency and operational performance.
- Emergency response and troubleshooting to minimise service interruptions.
- Spare parts management, equipment condition assessment, and replacement of deteriorated components.
- Development and implementation of technical training programmes for operation and maintenance personnel covering station operation, equipment maintenance, safety procedures, and best practices.
- Preparation of operational reports, performance analyses, and technical documentation in accordance with New Urban Communities Authority requirements.
- Implementation of occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards throughout all project activities.
Technological Impact
The project enhances the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of water distribution systems through the integration of advanced operation and maintenance technologies. The implementation of SCADA systems, real-time monitoring, automated control solutions, predictive maintenance strategies, and digital asset management improves operational visibility, enables early fault detection, and optimises pumping station performance.
The technical training programmes strengthen the capabilities of operation and maintenance teams, support knowledge transfer, and promote the adoption of modern water infrastructure management practices. These technological and operational improvements contribute to reducing downtime, improving energy efficiency, extending equipment life cycles, and ensuring a reliable and sustainable potable water supply system for New Asyut City.
