Project Overview
This project, undertaken for the National Authority for Potable Water and Sewage (NAPWASD), involves the comprehensive operation and maintenance of two sewage pumping stations in Abu Atwa City, Ismailia Governorate. The project aims to ensure the continuous and reliable collection and transfer of wastewater to treatment facilities while maintaining efficient operation and compliance with environmental and safety requirements. Through effective operation, preventive maintenance, and continuous monitoring, the project supports sustainable wastewater services, protects public health, and enhances the reliability of the wastewater infrastructure in Ismailia Governorate.Scope of Work
The project encompasses the complete operation and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and civil assets associated with the two sewage pumping stations. Key activities include:
- Continuous operation and performance monitoring of sewage pumping stations.
- Preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of pumps, motors, valves, generators, electrical panels, and control systems.
- Inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of wet wells, pipelines, screens, and associated facilities.
- Operation and maintenance of SCADA, instrumentation, automation, and control systems where applicable.
- Monitoring wastewater flow rates and operational parameters to ensure service reliability.
- Emergency response and breakdown maintenance to minimise service interruptions.
- Spare parts management, equipment condition assessment, and replacement of deteriorated components.
- Preparation of operational reports, performance analyses, and maintenance records in accordance with NAPWASD requirements.
- Implementation of occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards throughout all project activities.
Technological Impact
The project improves the efficiency and reliability of wastewater conveyance systems through the application of advanced operation and maintenance technologies. The use of SCADA systems, real-time monitoring, automated control, predictive maintenance strategies, and digital asset management enables effective supervision of pumping station performance, early detection of equipment failures, and optimisation of maintenance activities.
These technological solutions contribute to reducing unplanned downtime, improving energy efficiency, extending the operational life of critical equipment, and ensuring continuous wastewater services. Furthermore, enhanced monitoring and data analysis support better operational decision-making, improve system reliability, and contribute to the sustainable management of wastewater infrastructure in Abu Atwa City, Ismailia Governorate.
