Translation and Editing the Standard Operation and Maintenance Procedures Manuals

Project Overview

This project, carried out in collaboration with ABB SUSA, Mansoura Water Treatment Plant, and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), involves the translation, editing, and technical review of Standard Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Procedures Manuals. The project aims to enhance the accessibility, accuracy, and usability of operation and maintenance documentation for water treatment facilities.

The project focuses on ensuring that technical manuals are professionally translated, edited, and aligned with operational requirements and international standards. It supports effective knowledge transfer, improves communication between technical teams, and enhances the implementation of standardised operation and maintenance practices within water treatment facilities.

Scope of Work

The project encompasses translation and editing services for Standard Operation and Maintenance Procedures Manuals, including:

  • Translation of technical operation and maintenance manuals related to water treatment plant systems and equipment.
  • Professional editing and technical review to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity of translated documents.
  • Adaptation of technical terminology according to international water and wastewater industry standards.
  • Review and formatting of operation procedures, maintenance instructions, safety requirements, and equipment manuals.
  • Ensuring consistency of technical descriptions, operational sequences, and maintenance methodologies.
  • Verification of translated content against original technical documents to maintain accuracy and completeness.
  • Preparation of finalised manuals suitable for use by operation and maintenance personnel.
  • Supporting knowledge transfer through clear and standardised documentation.
  • Ensuring alignment of procedures with best practices in water treatment plant operation and maintenance.

Technological Impact

The project contributes to improving operational efficiency and technical knowledge management within water treatment facilities by providing accurate and standardised operation and maintenance documentation. The development of professionally translated and edited manuals supports the adoption of modern operational practices, enhances workforce capabilities, and improves accessibility to technical information.

Through improved documentation systems and standardised procedures, the project helps reduce operational errors, optimise maintenance activities, improve equipment reliability, and support sustainable management of water treatment facilities in accordance with international standards.
