Project Overview
This project, carried out for the General Authority for Military Industries (KSA), involves comprehensive operation and maintenance services for a sewage water treatment plant in Al Kharj Governorate.
The project aims to ensure the continuous, reliable, and efficient operation of the wastewater treatment facility through professional operation management and the implementation of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programmes. It focuses on maintaining treatment performance, ensuring compliance with environmental standards, improving operational efficiency, and supporting sustainable wastewater management.
The project contributes to enhancing wastewater infrastructure reliability by optimising plant performance, extending equipment service life, reducing operational risks, and ensuring the safe and effective treatment of sewage water in accordance with applicable technical and environmental requirements.
Scope of Work
The project encompasses comprehensive operation and maintenance activities for the sewage water treatment plant, including:
- Continuous operation and monitoring of the wastewater treatment plant and all associated facilities.
- Operation and maintenance of treatment units, including screening systems, grit removal units, biological treatment processes, aeration tanks, clarification units, sludge treatment systems, and disinfection facilities.
- Operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment, including pumps, motors, blowers, valves, pipelines, and auxiliary systems.
- Maintenance of electrical systems, distribution panels, Motor Control Centres (MCCs), instrumentation, automation systems, and SCADA systems where applicable.
- Monitoring influent and treated water quality through laboratory testing and analysis to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and required standards.
- Implementation of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programmes for all plant equipment and assets.
- Inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of tanks, pipelines, chambers, and associated wastewater infrastructure.
- Monitoring operational parameters and optimising treatment processes to improve efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
- Troubleshooting, emergency response, and corrective actions to minimise operational interruptions.
- Management of spare parts, equipment condition assessment, and replacement of defective components when required.
- Preparation of operation and maintenance plans, technical reports, performance records, and operational documentation.
- Ensuring compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements throughout project execution.
Technological Impact
The project enhances the reliability and efficiency of wastewater treatment operations through the application of advanced operation and maintenance practices and effective asset management strategies. The integration of monitoring systems, automation technologies, and preventive maintenance programmes improves operational control, reduces equipment failures, and increases plant availability.
The project supports sustainable wastewater management by improving treated water quality, reducing environmental impacts, extending the service life of critical assets, and optimising operational costs. It contributes to the development of reliable wastewater treatment infrastructure in Al Kharj Governorate in line with modern engineering practices and environmental standards.
