Project Overview
The 15,000 m3/day Seawater Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plant Electromechanical Installation in Ras Al Khair City is a critical industrial water infrastructure project executed for the Environmental Engineering division of Ma’aden Phosphate Company. This initiative focuses on the precise assembly, integration, and commissioning of a high-capacity water treatment facility designed to deliver reliable, high-purity water to support large-scale phosphate processing and mining operations.
Scope of Work
This project strictly encompasses the electromechanical execution phase, ensuring that the engineered design is translated into a fully operational, integrated system. The core responsibilities include:
-
Mechanical Assembly & Rigging: Precision mounting, leveling, and alignment of heavy-duty treatment skids, high-pressure pumps, RO pressure vessel arrays, and associated filtration equipment.
-
Piping Integration: Fabrication, routing, and connection of specialized industrial piping networks—including high-grade alloys for high-pressure lines and UPVC/CPVC for low-pressure chemical and permeate distribution.
-
Electrical & Control Systems: Complete electrical cabling, installation of Motor Control Centers (MCC), and wiring of instrumentation (flow meters, pressure transmitters, conductivity sensors).
-
Automation & Commissioning: Integration of system components with the plant’s PLC/SCADA architecture, ensuring automated fail-safes and smooth operational hand-off.
Technical Architecture & Equipment Integration
The installation process requires rigorous adherence to industrial standards to handle demanding raw water conditions and high continuous flow rates. Key systems installed include:
-
Advanced Pretreatment Systems: Mechanical integration of primary filtration stages, such as Multimedia Filters (MMF) or Ultrafiltration (UF), to protect downstream membranes.
-
RO Membrane Skids: Assembly of the core reverse osmosis blocks, ensuring exact pressure vessel configuration to optimize permeate recovery and manage highly concentrated brine rejection.
-
Clean-In-Place (CIP) & Dosing: Installation of dedicated CIP units and precision chemical dosing systems (antiscalants, biocide, pH adjusters) to maintain membrane integrity and prevent scaling.
Strategic & Environmental Impact
Aligned with Ma’aden's stringent Engineering standards, this plant installation directly supports the facility's sustainability targets. By ensuring the flawless mechanical and electrical execution of the RO plant, the project guarantees energy-efficient water recovery, minimizes operational downtime, and secures the critical water supply required for Ras Al Khair's industrial ecosystem.
