Project Overview
This project, undertaken for the New Urban Communities Authority, involves the comprehensive operation, maintenance, and training services for the Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant in Suez City. The project aims to ensure the efficient and sustainable treatment of industrial wastewater while maintaining compliance with environmental regulations, operational standards, and industrial discharge requirements. In addition to operation and maintenance activities, the project includes specialised training programmes to enhance the technical capabilities of operation and maintenance teams, improve plant management practices, and ensure the long-term reliability and sustainability of industrial wastewater treatment infrastructure.Scope of Work
The project encompasses the complete operation, maintenance, and training activities associated with the industrial wastewater treatment plant, including:
- Continuous operation and monitoring of all industrial wastewater treatment processes.
- Preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of pumps, motors, blowers, valves, generators, electrical panels, and treatment equipment.
- Operation and maintenance of treatment units, including screening systems, equalisation tanks, chemical treatment units, biological treatment systems, sedimentation tanks, filtration units, sludge handling facilities, and disinfection systems.
- Operation and maintenance of SCADA, instrumentation, automation, and process control systems where applicable.
- Monitoring wastewater quality parameters and conducting laboratory analyses to ensure compliance with environmental standards and discharge limits.
- Inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of pipelines, tanks, pumping systems, and associated infrastructure.
- Optimisation of treatment processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Emergency response and troubleshooting to minimise service interruptions.
- Sludge management and monitoring of treatment by-products in accordance with environmental requirements.
- Spare parts management, equipment condition assessment, and replacement of deteriorated components.
- Development and implementation of technical training programmes for operation and maintenance personnel covering plant operation, equipment maintenance, safety procedures, and best practices.
- Preparation of operational reports, performance analyses, and technical documentation in accordance with project requirements.
- Implementation of occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards throughout all project activities.
Technological Impact
The project enhances the efficiency, reliability, and environmental sustainability of industrial wastewater treatment operations through the integration of advanced technologies and modern operation and maintenance practices. The implementation of SCADA systems, real-time monitoring, automated process control, predictive maintenance strategies, and digital asset management improves operational visibility, enables early fault detection, and optimises treatment performance.
The specialised training programmes strengthen the capabilities of operation and maintenance teams, support knowledge transfer, and promote the adoption of modern wastewater management practices. These technological and operational improvements contribute to reducing downtime, improving energy and resource efficiency, extending equipment life cycles, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and supporting sustainable industrial wastewater management in Suez City.
