Project Overview
This massive, Kingdom-wide strategic initiative involves the deployment, operation, and maintenance of a fleet of Demineralized Mobile Water Skids across all Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) thermal power plants (PPs). The project acts as a highly responsive, decentralized utility network, designed to provide on-demand, ultra-pure Demin boiler feed water whenever and wherever it is needed. Whether supporting scheduled maintenance of permanent water facilities, addressing sudden emergency outages, or meeting peak seasonal power generation demands, these mobile units ensure that SEC's critical high-pressure boilers and steam turbines operate continuously without the risk of scaling or mechanical failure.
Scope of Work
-
Rapid Mobilization & Logistics: Managing a dynamic, Kingdom-wide logistical operation to rapidly dispatch, install, and commission skid-mounted demineralization units at any SEC power plant on short notice.
-
Demineralization Operations: Operating high-capacity, multi-pass Reverse Osmosis (RO) and deep demineralization processes (using Mixed Bed resins or Electrodeionization) to achieve absolute removal of dissolved solids, silica, and trace minerals.
-
Seamless Plant Integration: Conducting rapid hydraulic and electrical hook-ups, ensuring the mobile skids integrate flawlessly with the existing raw water intakes and ultra-pure water storage tanks of the host power plants.
-
Asset Maintenance & Regeneration: Executing routine mechanical servicing, RO membrane Clean-In-Place (CIP) protocols, and the critical chemical regeneration of ion exchange resins to maintain peak purification capacity.
-
Quality Assurance & Compliance: Performing rigorous, round-the-clock inline monitoring to guarantee the product water strictly adheres to SEC’s uncompromising ultra-low conductivity and silica parameters for super-critical boilers.
Technological Impact
The deployment of a modular, skid-mounted demineralization fleet provides SEC with unparalleled operational agility and grid resilience on a national scale. Instead of investing heavily in oversized permanent water plants for seasonal peaks, SEC can dynamically route these "plug-and-play" assets exactly where the electrical grid demands them most. Furthermore, the integration of smart telemetry and remote monitoring on these mobile skids allows central engineering teams to track water quality, flow rates, and membrane health across multiple power plants simultaneously, ensuring high-efficiency water production with a significantly reduced physical footprint.
