Operation and Maintenance of Sewage Water Treatment Plant and Swimming Pools in Riyadh Governorate

Operation and Maintenance of Sewage Water Treatment Plant and Swimming Pools in Riyadh Governorate

Project Overview

This project, carried out for SABIC and Morganti, involves comprehensive operation and maintenance services for the Sewage Water Treatment Plant and swimming pools in Riyadh Governorate.

The project aims to ensure the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of the wastewater treatment plant and swimming pool facilities through professional operation, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and technical management. It focuses on maintaining treated wastewater quality, ensuring the hygienic and safe operation of swimming pools, and complying with environmental, public health, and operational standards.

The project contributes to improving wastewater management, enhancing water quality, ensuring the safe operation of recreational facilities, and supporting the long-term sustainability of water infrastructure.

Scope of Work

The project encompasses comprehensive operation and maintenance activities, including:

  • Continuous operation and monitoring of the sewage water treatment plant and swimming pool facilities.
  • Operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment units, including screening systems, biological treatment units, aeration systems, sedimentation tanks, filtration systems, sludge handling units, and disinfection systems.
  • Operation and maintenance of swimming pool filtration, circulation, chlorination, and water quality control systems.
  • Preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of pumps, motors, blowers, valves, generators, electrical panels, mechanical equipment, and electromechanical systems.
  • Operation and maintenance of electrical systems, instrumentation, automation, and SCADA systems where applicable.
  • Monitoring wastewater quality and swimming pool water quality through laboratory testing to ensure compliance with environmental and public health standards.
  • Inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of tanks, pipelines, filters, valves, swimming pool equipment, and associated infrastructure.
  • Optimisation of treatment and water circulation processes to improve operational efficiency and maintain water quality.
  • Troubleshooting, emergency response, and corrective maintenance to minimise operational interruptions.
  • Spare parts management, equipment condition assessment, and replacement of deteriorated components.
  • Preparation of operation and maintenance plans, technical reports, performance evaluations, and operational documentation.
  • Ensuring compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements throughout all project activities.

Technological Impact

The project enhances the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of wastewater treatment and swimming pool operations through the application of advanced operation and maintenance practices. The integration of SCADA, automated monitoring systems, advanced instrumentation, and predictive maintenance strategies improves operational control, enables early fault detection, and increases system reliability.

The project contributes to maintaining high-quality treated wastewater and swimming pool water, reducing operational costs, improving energy efficiency, extending equipment service life, and ensuring safe and environmentally compliant operation. It also supports the implementation of modern water management practices that align with international engineering, environmental, and public health standards.
