Project Overview

This dual-faceted project encompasses the comprehensive Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of both the domestic Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and the residential swimming pool facilities within the prestigious Al Waseel Compound. Executed for SABIC in partnership with Morganti's facility management team, the initiative ensures a high standard of living for compound residents. The project guarantees pristine, safe recreational waters while simultaneously providing efficient, eco-friendly wastewater processing to support the compound's irrigation needs.

Scope of Work

  • STP Daily Operations: 24/7 management of the domestic wastewater treatment cycle, including preliminary screening, biological aeration, clarification, and disinfection processes to produce high-quality irrigation water.

  • Swimming Pool Maintenance: Routine water quality management for compound pools, encompassing daily chemical balancing (chlorine, pH, alkalinity), vacuuming, and regular backwashing of the multi-media filtration systems to maintain crystal-clear water.

  • Electromechanical Servicing: Execution of systematic preventive and corrective maintenance on critical infrastructure, including sewage lifting pumps, aeration blowers, pool circulation pumps, heat exchangers, and automated dosing panels.

  • Water Quality Assurance: Conducting rigorous daily laboratory tests and inline monitoring to ensure pool water strictly adheres to public health and safety standards, and STP effluent complies with environmental regulations for safe landscaping reuse.

  • Chemical Inventory Management: Safe handling, storage, and precise application of operational chemicals for both sanitation systems, ensuring optimal consumption and adherence to strict HSE protocols.

Technological Impact

By implementing automated chemical dosing controllers and utilizing advanced multi-media filtration systems, the project ensures optimal water sanitation with minimal chemical waste and human error. For the STP, the fine-tuning of biological aeration controls optimizes the energy consumption of the blowers. The overall system efficiency not only guarantees a safe recreational environment for residents but also allows the compound to safely repurpose 100% of its treated domestic effluent for extensive landscaping irrigation, directly supporting SABIC’s broader sustainability and water conservation objectives.
