Project Overview
This project, carried out for the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Defense, involves the rehabilitation and upgrading of sewage networks at King Abdulaziz Military Faculty.
The project aims to improve the performance, reliability, and operational efficiency of the existing wastewater collection infrastructure through comprehensive rehabilitation works, including the replacement of damaged network components and upgrading of associated facilities.
The project supports the Ministry of Defense’s efforts to enhance infrastructure sustainability by improving wastewater management systems, reducing leakage and operational issues, and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and engineering standards.
Scope of Work
The project encompasses comprehensive rehabilitation works for the sewage networks, including:
- Inspection and assessment of existing sewage networks to identify damaged and deteriorated components.
- Rehabilitation and replacement of existing sewage pipelines and network sections.
- Removal and disposal of damaged pipes and obsolete network components.
- Supply and installation of new sewage pipelines, fittings, manholes, and associated accessories.
- Rehabilitation and maintenance of sewage chambers, inspection points, and drainage structures.
- Repair and improvement of connections between existing facilities and the upgraded sewage network.
- Execution of excavation, backfilling, and surface restoration works associated with network rehabilitation.
- Testing and inspection of sewage pipelines to ensure proper operation and integrity.
- Cleaning, flushing, and commissioning of rehabilitated sewage systems.
- Preparation of technical documentation, as-built drawings, testing reports, and project records.
- Ensuring compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements throughout project execution.
Technological Impact
The project enhances the reliability and efficiency of wastewater collection systems at King Abdulaziz Military Faculty by rehabilitating aging sewage networks and implementing improved infrastructure solutions. The upgraded network reduces leakage risks, minimises maintenance requirements, improves environmental protection, and ensures reliable wastewater conveyance.
The project contributes to sustainable infrastructure development by extending the service life of existing sewage assets, improving operational performance, reducing environmental impacts, and supporting safe and efficient wastewater management in accordance with modern engineering standards.
