Project Overview
This project, carried out for the Saudi Arabia National Guard, involves comprehensive operation and maintenance services for deep wells and two water treatment plants at Wadi Laban Camps in Riyadh Governorate.
The project aims to ensure the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of groundwater extraction systems and water treatment facilities through professional operation management and the implementation of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programmes.
The project focuses on maintaining reliable water production, improving treatment plant performance, ensuring high-quality treated water, and supporting sustainable water supply services for the National Guard facilities. It contributes to enhancing infrastructure reliability, extending equipment service life, and ensuring compliance with technical, environmental, and health standards.
Scope of Work
The project includes comprehensive operation and maintenance activities for deep wells and water treatment plants, including:
- Operation and monitoring of deep well systems and associated pumping facilities.
- Operation and maintenance of two water treatment plants serving Wadi Laban Camps.
- Operation and maintenance of water treatment units, including filtration systems, chemical dosing systems, disinfection systems, and related treatment processes.
- Maintenance of deep well pumps, submersible pumps, motors, valves, pipelines, and mechanical equipment.
- Operation and maintenance of electrical systems, distribution panels, Motor Control Centres (MCCs), instrumentation, automation systems, and SCADA systems where applicable.
- Monitoring raw water and treated water quality through laboratory testing and analysis.
- Implementation of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programmes for all plant equipment and assets.
- Inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of water tanks, pipelines, pumping stations, and associated facilities.
- Monitoring operational parameters and optimising treatment processes to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Troubleshooting, emergency response, and corrective actions to minimise service interruptions.
- Management of spare parts, equipment condition assessment, and replacement of defective components when required.
- Preparation of operation and maintenance plans, technical reports, performance records, and operational documentation.
- Ensuring compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements throughout project execution.
Technological Impact
The project enhances the reliability and efficiency of water supply systems at Wadi Laban Camps through the application of advanced operation and maintenance practices for groundwater extraction and water treatment facilities. The implementation of monitoring systems, automation technologies, and structured maintenance strategies improves operational control, reduces equipment failures, and increases system availability.
The project supports sustainable water resource management by ensuring continuous production of high-quality treated water, optimising groundwater utilisation, reducing operational risks, and extending the service life of critical infrastructure. It contributes to the development of reliable and efficient water treatment facilities in line with modern engineering practices and environmental standards.
