Project Overview

This project, carried out for ECOS Company, involves the rehabilitation of Manfouha Main Sewage Treatment Plant in Riyadh Governorate.

The project aims to restore and improve the operational efficiency, reliability, and capacity of the existing wastewater treatment facility through comprehensive rehabilitation works. The project focuses on upgrading treatment processes, rehabilitating mechanical and electrical systems, improving plant performance, and ensuring compliance with environmental and operational standards.

The rehabilitation works support sustainable wastewater management in Riyadh Governorate by enhancing treatment efficiency, reducing operational challenges, extending the service life of existing assets, and ensuring reliable treatment of sewage water in accordance with approved technical requirements.

Scope of Work

The project includes comprehensive rehabilitation works for Manfouha Main Sewage Treatment Plant, including:

  • Assessment and evaluation of existing treatment units, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Rehabilitation and upgrading of wastewater treatment processes and related facilities.
  • Repair, replacement, and refurbishment of mechanical equipment, including pumps, motors, blowers, valves, and pipelines.
  • Rehabilitation of electrical systems, power distribution panels, Motor Control Centres (MCCs), instrumentation, automation systems, and SCADA systems where applicable.
  • Rehabilitation and improvement of treatment units, including screening systems, biological treatment units, aeration systems, clarification tanks, sludge handling facilities, and disinfection systems.
  • Inspection, repair, and rehabilitation of civil structures, tanks, channels, and associated facilities.
  • Replacement of damaged components and upgrading of obsolete equipment to improve plant reliability.
  • Testing, commissioning, and performance verification of rehabilitated systems.
  • Optimisation of operational parameters to improve treatment efficiency and energy performance.
  • Preparation of technical documentation, rehabilitation reports, operation manuals, and as-built drawings.
  • Ensuring compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements throughout project execution.

Technological Impact
