Operation and Maintenance of Water Treatment Plant in Kafr Al Battikh City

Project Overview

This project, undertaken for the New Urban Communities Authority, involves comprehensive operation and maintenance services for the Water Treatment Plant in Kafr Al Battikh City. The project aims to ensure the continuous, efficient, and reliable production of safe potable water while maintaining compliance with water quality standards, environmental regulations, and operational requirements.

The project focuses on maintaining the performance and reliability of water treatment facilities through professional operation, preventive maintenance, corrective actions, and effective technical management. It contributes to ensuring a sustainable and secure water supply for the residents of Kafr Al Battikh City.

Scope of Work

The project encompasses complete operation and maintenance activities for the Water Treatment Plant, including:

  • Continuous operation and monitoring of all water treatment processes and plant facilities.
  • Operation and maintenance of water treatment units, including raw water intake systems, screening units, coagulation and flocculation units, sedimentation tanks, filtration units, disinfection systems, and treated water storage facilities.
  • Preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of pumps, motors, valves, generators, electrical panels, mechanical equipment, and electromechanical systems.
  • Monitoring raw water and treated water quality through laboratory analysis to ensure compliance with drinking water standards.
  • Operation and maintenance of chemical dosing systems, water pumping systems, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Operation and maintenance of SCADA, instrumentation, automation, and control systems where applicable.
  • Inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of tanks, pipelines, valves, and associated hydraulic structures.
  • Monitoring water production rates, pressure levels, equipment performance, and operational parameters to ensure efficient plant performance.
  • Emergency response, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance to minimise operational interruptions.
  • Spare parts management, equipment condition assessment, and replacement of deteriorated components.
  • Preparation of operation and maintenance plans, technical reports, performance evaluations, and documentation according to New Urban Communities Authority requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards throughout all project activities.

Technological Impact

The project enhances the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of potable water production in Kafr Al Battikh City through the implementation of advanced operation and maintenance technologies. The integration of SCADA systems, real-time monitoring, automated control solutions, predictive maintenance strategies, and digital asset management improves operational visibility, enables early fault detection, and optimises the performance of the water treatment plant.

The application of modern technologies and improved maintenance practices contributes to enhancing water quality, reducing operational costs, improving energy efficiency, extending equipment service life, and ensuring the reliable and sustainable operation of the water treatment infrastructure in Kafr Al Battikh City.
