Project Overview
This project, undertaken for the New Urban Communities Authority, involves the comprehensive operation, maintenance, and training services for water storage tanks in Al Shorouk City. The project aims to ensure the safe, reliable, and continuous storage and distribution of potable water while maintaining compliance with operational, environmental, and public health standards. In addition to operation and maintenance activities, the project includes specialised training programmes to enhance the technical capabilities of operation and maintenance personnel, improve asset management practices, and ensure the long-term reliability and sustainability of the city's water storage infrastructure.Scope of Work
The project encompasses the complete operation, maintenance, and training activities associated with water storage tanks, including:
- Continuous operation and monitoring of water storage tanks and associated facilities.
- Preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and control equipment.
- Inspection, cleaning, disinfection, and maintenance of water storage tanks to ensure water quality and hygiene.
- Inspection and maintenance of inlet and outlet pipelines, valves, flow control systems, and associated infrastructure.
- Operation and maintenance of SCADA, instrumentation, automation, and monitoring systems where applicable.
- Monitoring water levels, pressure, water quality parameters, and operational performance to ensure uninterrupted water supply.
- Leak detection, structural inspections, and maintenance of tank structures to preserve operational integrity.
- Emergency response and troubleshooting to minimise operational disruptions.
- Spare parts management, equipment condition assessment, and replacement of deteriorated components.
- Development and implementation of technical training programmes for operation and maintenance personnel covering tank operation, inspection, maintenance procedures, safety requirements, and best practices.
- Preparation of operational reports, performance evaluations, and technical documentation in accordance with New Urban Communities Authority requirements.
- Implementation of occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards throughout all project activities.
Technological Impact
The project enhances the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of potable water storage infrastructure through the integration of advanced operation and maintenance technologies. The implementation of SCADA systems, real-time monitoring, automated control solutions, predictive maintenance strategies, and digital asset management improves operational visibility, enables early fault detection, and optimises the performance of water storage facilities.
The technical training programmes strengthen the capabilities of operation and maintenance teams, support knowledge transfer, and promote the adoption of modern water infrastructure management practices. These technological and operational improvements contribute to reducing water losses, improving service reliability, extending infrastructure service life, ensuring water quality, and supporting the sustainable operation of water storage facilities throughout Al Shorouk City.
