Replacement of Sewage Network in Labour Camp

Replacement of Sewage Network in Labour Camp

Project Overview

This project, carried out for the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Defense / KAMA, involves the replacement and upgrading of the existing sewage network at the Labour Camp.

The project aims to improve the reliability, efficiency, and environmental performance of the wastewater collection system by replacing aged and deteriorated sewage pipelines and associated components with modern infrastructure. The works include civil, mechanical, and related utility activities to ensure safe and efficient wastewater conveyance throughout the camp facilities.

The project supports the Ministry of Defense’s infrastructure improvement initiatives by enhancing sanitation services, reducing leakage risks, minimising maintenance requirements, and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and engineering standards.

Scope of Work

The project encompasses the complete replacement of the existing sewage network, including:

  • Inspection and assessment of the existing sewage network to identify damaged and deteriorated sections.
  • Removal and disposal of old and damaged sewage pipelines and network components.
  • Supply and installation of new sewage pipelines, fittings, manholes, inspection chambers, and related accessories.
  • Rehabilitation and improvement of sewage collection points and drainage structures.
  • Execution of excavation, trench preparation, bedding, backfilling, and surface restoration works.
  • Modification and connection of the new sewage network with existing facilities and utility systems.
  • Testing and inspection of sewage pipelines to verify integrity and proper operation.
  • Cleaning, flushing, and commissioning of the completed sewage network.
  • Preparation of as-built drawings, technical documentation, testing reports, and completion records.
  • Coordination of replacement activities to minimise disruption to camp operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements throughout project execution.

Technological Impact

The project improves the reliability and efficiency of wastewater collection services at the Labour Camp through the replacement of aging sewage infrastructure with modern and durable network systems. The upgraded sewage network reduces leakage risks, improves sanitation conditions, lowers maintenance requirements, and enhances environmental protection.

The project contributes to sustainable infrastructure development by extending the service life of sewage assets, improving operational performance, reducing environmental impacts, and ensuring safe and reliable wastewater management. It supports the implementation of modern engineering solutions and best practices for wastewater infrastructure within Ministry of Defense facilities.
