Project Overview
This project, carried out for the Saudi Arabia National Guard, involves comprehensive operation and maintenance services for main water networks and irrigation pump systems in Dammam Governorate.
The project aims to ensure the continuous, reliable, and efficient operation of water distribution networks and irrigation pumping systems through specialised operation management and the implementation of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programmes.
The project focuses on maintaining stable water supply, improving the performance of irrigation systems, ensuring efficient water distribution, and supporting the operational requirements of National Guard facilities. It contributes to enhancing infrastructure reliability, reducing water losses, extending equipment service life, and ensuring compliance with technical, environmental, and safety standards.
Scope of Work
The project includes comprehensive operation and maintenance activities for main water networks and irrigation pumps, including:
- Operation and monitoring of main water distribution networks and associated facilities.
- Operation and maintenance of irrigation pumping stations and pumping equipment.
- Maintenance of water pipelines, valves, fittings, chambers, and network components.
- Maintenance of irrigation pumps, motors, control systems, and auxiliary equipment.
- Inspection, testing, and repair of mechanical equipment, including pumps, valves, and rotating machinery.
- Maintenance of electrical systems, power panels, Motor Control Centres (MCCs), instrumentation, and automation systems.
- Monitoring water flow rates, pressure levels, and system performance to ensure efficient operation.
- Implementation of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programmes for all network and pumping assets.
- Detection and repair of leaks, faults, and damaged components within the water distribution system.
- Cleaning, inspection, and maintenance of pumping stations, tanks, and related facilities.
- Troubleshooting and emergency response to minimise service interruptions.
- Management of spare parts, equipment condition assessment, and replacement of defective components.
- Preparation of operation and maintenance plans, technical reports, and performance records.
- Ensuring compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements throughout project execution.
Technological Impact
The project enhances the reliability and efficiency of water distribution and irrigation systems in Dammam Governorate through the application of advanced operation and maintenance practices. Effective monitoring systems, structured maintenance programmes, and optimised pumping operations improve water management, reduce failures, and increase the availability of essential infrastructure.
The project supports sustainable water resource management by improving network efficiency, reducing water losses, extending the service life of critical assets, and ensuring reliable water supply for Saudi Arabia National Guard facilities. It contributes to the development of efficient and sustainable water infrastructure in accordance with modern engineering practices and environmental standards.
